Dear Customers:
Thank you for your commitment to safety. Sigalarm
has compiled a 41 year history of proven customer
satisfaction. We look forward to working together
with you in reducing unnecessary power line
contacts.
There is no excuse; power line contact is a known
problem. The loss of life and property is enormous.
Existing safeguards are just not enough. i.e.
De-energizing lines, insulated barriers, spotter’s,
warning labels, and maintaining minimum clearance
distances. OSHA has investigated hundreds of power
line accidents with these existing safe guards in
place.
Employer’s, Employee’s and Manufactures fall under
different legalities. Manufacturers contend that
they build safe products and therefore
responsibility should be placed somewhere else. i.e.
the employee or employer who must recognize the
danger and/or provide adequate protection. However,
few people realize that humans have been proven to
have difficulty correctly judging the depth
perception between power lines and booms or mast.
This is where the Sigalarm proximity alarm provides
the added protection, which is to electronically
back up a trained operator who might not realize how
close he or she has gotten to a power line.
Thousands of units have been sold worldwide in
numerous Industries and we have documented units in
the field well over 20 years.
With your help we can save lives, property and
reduce the chance of costly litigation. I thank you
for joining our satisfied customers around the
world, who have enjoyed the peace of mind, knowing
that they have a Sigalarm Proximity Alarm installed
and operating.
On 10-09-08 OSHA published the revised Crane and
Derricks Standard 29 CFR Part 1926 in the federal
registry. Proximity alarms and Insulated links will
be part of a menu of options recommended if any part
of a crane can encroach within 20 feet of a high
voltage line. Both of which offer unique operational
benefits and are priced to be economically
advantageous.
Insulated links will be required if working within
Table A Red Zone.
We are willing to compromise on everything but
Quality, Integrity, and of course Safety.
Cordially,
Lance Burney
CEO
